AEROPLANE CRASH
A Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A320 flying from Lahore has crushed in the thickly populated Model Colony residential area of Karachi just after 2:37pm on 22 may 2020
Flight PK8303, conveying 91 travelers and eight crew, was attempting to land at Jinnah International Airport.
Provincial health authorities affirmed at any rate 44 deaths, yet a far higher loss of life is dreaded.
The pilot had revealed lost motor force and this tragedy occured.
Salvage groups searching through debris strewn over the roads of Model Colony, 3.2km (two miles) north-east of the air terminal 20 to 22 houses were crushed.
In this incident Pakistani model Zara Abid was also died.
The plane lost contact with aviation authority soon after 14:30 local time (09:30 GMT), a carrier representative said.
Rescuers clear an injured inhabitant from the site, where various houses were wrecked .
Observer Mohammed Uzair Khan told the BBC he had heard a monstrous sound and went outside his home. "Just about four houses were completely fell, there was so much fire and smoke," he said. "They are nearly my neighbors, I can't mention to you what a dreadful thing it was."
Dr Kanwal Nazim disclosed to BBC Urdu she heard individuals shouting and saw billows of dark smoke ascending from the three houses bordering a mosque.
Health authorities in Sindh, the region where the plane smashed, said 37 bodies had so far been brought to the Jinnah and Civic medical clinics, however it was obscure whether they were passengers or inhabitants.
The reason for the accident is yet to be confirmed. PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Arshad Malik said the pilot had told traffic control that the plane was experincing "specialized troubles".
